Dr. Phil is a self help guru and host on his own TV show. Many people like to watch and take his advice concerning different personal matters. The guru has taken up his version of a no-nonsense diet plan. Dr. Phil Diet is called “The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom”. The Dr. Phil Diet focuses on long-term sustainable weight loss unlike many others which are products created to make money only and have very little chance of leading to long-term and sustainable weight loss.

Dr. Phil Diet plan focus’s on reality of lifestyle changes and asks his audiences to accept this reality. When you do accept this reality, you must focus on changing your life forever. The program does not promise easy or fast weight loss, nor does it make overly optimistic claims. We all know that dieting does not always work and that there are differences in men and women when it comes to weight.

Every one of us is influenced by our family and how they eat. We are also faced with the media which has many diet plans and different ways to control our weight. The Dr. Phil Diet program does not make overly optimistic claims about loosing weight instead Dr. Phil tries to encourage us to change our lives daily until we have been able to control our weight. When we have mastered our lifestyle then we are able to control our appearance and our weight.

When we use our common sense we realize that self motivation sounds good at the time but soon wears out. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is by eating healthy foods daily. Then you must find a good exercise program and force yourself to do it, again daily. In reality if you can’t do that on your own, then lets face it, a guru is not going to be able to motivate you in the long term.

The book that Dr. Phil wrote about his diet program is a good motivation tool and should be considered. The changing of a lifestyle is not always easy but it can be done step by step. The Dr. Phil Diet program now has introduced supplements and other add-on products to the basics of his

“Diet” which may not be to everyone’s liking but his no-nonsense book is worth sticking too. Dr. Phil believes that if you are over weight then you are out of control. That is a harsh fact to have to face. The first thing is that you really need to face this fact about your weight issue.

The book is written by Dr. Phil and the Diet program is a real motivator and well worth reading. Dr. Phil breaks down his motivation programs in seven steps which we will briefly discuss but to get the full impact please read the book. The Dr. Phil Diet motivational program will help in the long term to help you find and keep control. The following brief overviews of the seven steps will give you an idea of what the book is about.

• First thing on the addenda is to get rid of all those foods that does not belong in your home. Many people claim that they are addicted to sugar, candy, cakes, pies, and other sweet things. You will confront and address that food is a drug or emotional crutch. When you learn to eat nutritious foods, your cravings for eating sweets disappears.

• One of the first gripes is I have failed at every diet imaginable! No way can I follow a long term plan and expect to take weight off and keep weight off. You should only start the challenge if you are ready to embrace a new way of thinking about weight loss. You need to stop making excuses, ready to stop lying to yourself about why you can’t lose weight

• Dr. Phil Diet discourages weighing your self constantly because it is better to set goals that are realistic and can be met.

• Jay Leno on the Tonight show asked Dr Phil - “Since you are such a big man, how could you be an authority on weight loss solutions?” Dr. Phil replied, “How can you be a comedian when you’re not funny?” Dr. Phil weighs in at about 220 pounds but if he weighed 181 pounds like he should then he’d look like a thin clothes line. You must set your goal at what you believe to be right for you.

• Willpower is the key to keep on keeping on. Willpower really is just a myth, according to Dr. Phil. It is just a temporary state of mind that pumps you up but leads you to crash and burn. This is where you allow you’re self to get into a destructive cycle of binge and then go back to dieting.

• We know a lot of time that at work we do a lot of activity and come home tired. We then have to make super, feed the kids, do the dishes, and help them with homework. We know that you have a hectic schedule but you just have to start small and at work you can walk at lunch or climb stairs during your break.

• Key number seven is about social control a very harsh problem sometimes. This is where you must use all the fiancées that you can. Your husband comes home with a video, pizza, and a box of chocolates just to please you then you find yourself in a dilemma. Do not let this discourage you, ask your mate to support what you have done and achieved. Show them how far you need to go in order to look the way they want you too. Make something simple like a salad. Place the salad and pizza on the table watch the movie while you enjoy the salad and he enjoys the pizza. The night can still be fun.
